Don't get me wrong. I love working in the shop on the sami. There is nothing else like building something that I will use and enjoy with my own to hands, especially when there are good friends envolved who enjoy it as much as I do. BUT DAMN....... The build time on this thing is way longer than I expected it to be. I thought I'd atleast be able to get in one good trip to tellico before the year's end but its looking like spring or maybe even next summer before I'm finished. Maybe I'm just burned out a little. Do any of you guys ever get this feeling? :(

I do all the time. Thats why its taking me so long to finish my buggy. Plus, work and classes doesn't help out much either.

I was there in your very shoes.. kinda lost sight of even why I was building anymore...

Once you get on the trail and enjoy the fruits of your labor, it's worth it.. I don't regret a thing.

Chin up dude!

Take a day/weekend off and ride shot gun with someone.

Its refreshing to take a break, and you'll be itching to get back on your's when you get home.

Shit mine was supposed to be ready for Dixie crawl 04. Still wont be for 05 either. Oh well. I have too many expensive hobbies.

It takes a while just focus on one thing at a time. Mine is taking a long time too! It's been about 1.5 years for me and I see the light! It's my wife shining a flashlight at me in the middle of the night saying to go feed the baby! LOL  :D Seriously though just hang in there and go do something else for a weekend and take a break from your project. Here's my 1.5 years worth. Let's see what you're working on!

Hey, Rich, have you had Captain America out on a trail yet?

I am right there with you man. I have lost motivation a few times this past year. I took this truck apart last Christmas vacation:

I started building it in the dirt in my friends back yard. Progress has been slow due to putting in long hours at work on a project. The weather(working in the dirt/mud outside in the winter/spring), friend moving, and buying a house also slowed progress. Heck, I am also just plain slow when it comes to making decisions about how to do something. When I first started, I too had ambitious goals of wheeling by May, but now am probably a couple of months away from being finished.

Post some pics of that Sami project man!

Yeah, I'd love to take a weekend off and just go wheel'n shotgun with a bud, but none of my good friends have anything to go wheel'n in. Don't get me wrong, I've met a lot of great folks on the trail, and I've bought, sold, or traded with lots more, but none of my local freinds are into it. So, I guess thats proof that I'm true to the sport or hobby or whatever else you may call it (i prefer to call it an addiction). Because.........If I can't build it, wheel it, or break it (not neccessarily in that order) than I'd just as soon not mess with it! Friends around here just look at me like I'm crazy and say "what'ya gonna do with that thing? there's no way your gonna get it inspected." I probly just need to move or get new friends. My only silver lining is that I have a wife that supports my habit just because it makes me happy, even though she does'nt really care for it. Blah Blah Blah thats the end of my sob story. By the way drkelly, that bronco/ranger looks really good. What size tires are those?

Take your time and build it right! It may be a PITA and take longer but it won't be falling apart on the trail. I made that mistake on my first rig and I will never do it again. I does not have to be completly finished just trail worthy. The trail is where you can test stuf out and then make changes as they are needed.

Just set a specific goal to get a section completed and do only that before going on to something else.

It will be done before you know it. :D

The cab truck has 42" TSL's.
