so ive got a bare fj80 housing, along with knuckles and flanges. (also arms and tie rod, but not using them). someone told me i could use the spindles and complete outers from a ifs mini truck. can anyone verify yes or no on that?

also, curious as to how much stronger , if any, the 80 front is vs the regular straight toy front. i know about the third member already. whichever axle i build will have longfields. i have a complete ifs rig to cannibalize.
any fj80 axle gurus out there?

No.

It is a good bit stronger.

The axle tube is the same thickness as any other FJ axle...

The birf is obviously bigger which makes the knuckle bigger, and is somewhat stronger. I doubt you could use the spindle from a FJ or straight axle mini, let alone from an IFS rig.

Honestly, I don't think they're really any stronger in the end than any FJ axle once all the available aftermarket upgrades are done to both.

The drive flanges are stronger than the lockout hubs though...
