i'm in the middle of replacing my UCA bushings (what a PITA), got some Energy Suspension poly ones for replacement.

In this case, the OE ones are rubber and the center sleeves are glued to it. While grinding off the old rubber (grrr) to re-use them and test fitting to the poly bushings, I got to thinking...

Where is the spinning action really supposed to be w/ poly bushings? Just between the center pin and ring (metal/metal), or the ring and poly? Or a bit of both?
On one hand, rubbing the poly creates it's own kind of self-lube action...but I'd assume this would slowly eat the bushing too.
or would it really be better to apply some spray adhesive to sleeves before jamming them into the poly bushing?

I've always put some grease on the sleeves before I install them in the bushings. Several manufacturers sell greaseable bolts for their spring bushings, but I can't say if it makes a difference for anything but noise.
