Got a guy wanting to sell me I think it is a 502 caddy motor. The question is,how much trouble will it be to put in a 89 chevy? Will it bolt up to the trans and are the motor mounts going to work? Thanks Scott

The bolt pattern is different from a Chevy, but there are adapters. I'm also pretty sure the motor mounts are different.

Oh, and the Caddy engines are 500ci, not 502. There were other sizes too.

I checked into doing the swap in my Suburban a few years ago. The swap itself seems fairly easy, but I was gonna have problems getting it to pass inspection.

cad motors are that hotness, came in 500's and 472's and some other small number like 427 or something . . . . . anyway jegs has an adapter to bolt a chevy tranny to it for like $70 bucks, and the motor mounts you can get an adapter kit from the above mentioned links, only other issue you might have is you'll need a radiator from a big block chevy or a diesel
