campin at ure sat

I'll be at Arrowhead #4, Fri and Sat night.

I'm also up for some evening 'wheeling once the race festivities are over, somebody swing by and get me

me and some buds will be out on the trails all weekend camping and wheeling. look for a couple of Yotas in a small group and you'll find us!

heh, I'll be in the completely other direction. Spending the weekend in Smokey Mountain. Way cheaper than URE this weekend (free!). Shame I had to miss the 4x4Cross, but I honestly couldnt swing the 30 bucks

Jeez, should have just come to URE this weekend.

Got to the campsite around 7 pm yesterday, set everything up and everything was good to go. Not sure if anyone here has been to Smokey before, but damn does it get DARK. I couldnt see my hands in my own tent.

Around 12:30 something comes crashing through out campsite. Turns out to be a fairly large buck. We work to get it out of the site. Turn around to get the fire started again, and 25-30 feet away catch another pair of eyes in the headlamp light. This time, most likely a bear. We start yelling at it, making lots of noise for it to go away, and it actually gets CLOSER. This damn thing wouldnt go away until we got the fire lit up.

Decided with a bear that dedicated to getting into our stuff, best idea was to head out of the park, at 2 AM. Finally get to Gatlinburg around 4:30, get some crappy hotel room for 22 bucks. Woulda been better off dropping the 30 and gas to URE haha
