There are quite a few campgrounds around Myrtle Beach and it's hard to choose which one to stay at. There are pros and cons to them all I think. I'd just like to hear what they are and why you stay where you do.

I stayed at Lakewood two years ago and it was alright but they didn't allow personal golf carts and was somewhat run down. Last year we stayed at OceanLakes and it was awesome. Took our own cart so we could get around the 300+ acre area. Everything was nice and clean and they had nice pools. Only problem was someone got murdered while we were there.(freak thing)

This year we opted to go back to Oceanlakes. I got the exact same spot as last year although small it's on a low traffic road, close to everything, and has a nice shade tree which is a must for me. Ten days costed me $665 which isn't bad considering I'll be living 202 feet from the ocean for ten days and don't really have to leave the CG if I don't want to cause they have everything a man needs. I think the family will have a great time again this year but I may be open for some change next year. Where around MB would you recommend staying?

I've already got twenty-five days of reservations for the summer and can't wait.

Stayed at Lakewood years ago. It was ok. The RV is in storage at Ocean Lakes as I type this. For what it is, Ocean Lakes is about as good as it gets for Myrtle Beach campgrounds. Their minimal storage fees and fair campsite prices, there's no reason for me to even drive the RV home, unless I use it for something else, which is rare. I consider it my beach house.

I have stayed at lakewood and ocean lakes. They are nice, but i usually dont use most of their amenities. As long as i have Power, water and sewer I'm good. So, i usually just stay at the Myrtle Beach State Park. It has the above amenity's at several of their sites and most are shaded, it has a store, its own pier and beach access and is only $27.00 night, no matter which site you get.

I lived in Ocean Lakes through high school and into college...good times.

Last year we stayed at a CG we could walk to the Blues Brothers and Dirty Dicks at Bare foot landing. They had a gate you could walk through, came in handy for New Years Eve. Can't remember the name of it but it was pretty nice and very reasonable. It was also big rig friendly. When we go back to M B, we will stay there again. Ocean Lakes is getting a little greedy IMOP.

The north end, carolina beach. Nothing like ocean front property for under 100 bucks a year

Yeah its actually called freeman park but most regulars or locals call it the north end.

We camped at Hunting Island SC last year. A little south of Myrtle but we had a great time. Great swimming, fishing, wildlife and not very far from Charleston.
