Since we're on a tight budget, my fiancee and I have convinced my dad to let us borrow the camper trailer to use on our honeymoon. Anyone have any experience with campgrounds in the Charleston area?

I haven't done any camping in that area, but I'd say in general there are two routes you could go.

One would be to check out the local KOA. They're not the cheapest, but as a rule, they're pretty consistant and RV friendly.

The other option would be to look into any State Parks that are close by. I haven't camped any SC campgrounds, but every NC state park we've camped has been nice. Most, but not all, have RV hook ups as well and the rates are very reasonable.

Might be worth taking a trip down to SC from where you are and checking out the facilities at a SC state park near you. That would give you a feel for what they're like.

Save your gas money and go to the Ansonborough Inn.
Put in it on a credit card or whatever. It's your honeymoon dude!
Charleston is not known for it's campgrounds.
It's a GREAT time of year to go!
