I see people camping in tellico on trail 5 and I'd love to avoid the drive to Crawfords. It's right by the river and there seems to be enough room for a small club. Can you reserve it? Is there a porta-potty there? First come first served? What do I need to know or do?

Thanks in advance,
Woody

Rules:

The following is prohibited:

1. Camping in the Allen Gap and State Line trailhead parking areas - (and yes this does include staying inside a totally enclosed RV parked there).

2. Roadside camping on Trail # 1 and Trail # 5, except in those areas designated by posted sign. (<--- where are "those areas"?)

Also as of the 3rd the trails are back open.... anyone want to go the first weekend in may?

I was just there this past weekend, there is no longer camping on the far side of the river. Alot of people used to camp over there, but there are "no camping" signs all over that area. We've camped alot on the near side of the river in the area to the right. But, they are in the process of building a huge bridge over the river, and they have the trail re-routed through this camp site. So, you are pretty much out of luck.

If you stay at Stateline campground, you don't have to have a tag and registration. If you go any farther on the Tenn. side, you'll need both.
