Just wondering how safe it is to run a motor with NO coolant? Im talking under a min or under 30 seconds if need be. Im thinking about buying wrecked car busted radiator and just want to make sure it starts, runs and shifts to reverse and drive. If its not that much a issue Id like to pull it on the trailor to. its a Honda 4cyl

Or if it's gonna possibly take longer.... grab a "universal" (corregated), a couple of nylon barbs, and couple of hose clamps (of the correct size) to bypass the rad! You should be able to get 5-6 minutes out of it running H2O...

How busted is the radiator? Stuff a running garden hose in the radiator; if the radiator leaks less than the hose supplies, you're good to go (the length of the hose).

I drove my crashed waggy with no coolant 2 miles up 52 to the next exit. I watched the temp guage go from cold to hot and shut her off just in time. Tractor pullers and dragsters have no coolant at all.
