Thats what I thought but a friend told to do it and he details cars for a living. He also says to test it on a corner first cause some windshields have a protective cover and that will scratch. Done it on my tahoe today and not one scratch.

I often use a Scotch Bright sponge, the burly side, but I specially use the "medium" or "soft" ones and don't scrub real hard. It has to be some really sticky shite to warrant that at all... and in those cases I often do 1 quick spritz of Brake cleaner to disolve it first.

I've also been told to use glass cooktop cleaner to remove the real hard mineral deposits that show up on the outside of the glass. Just be carefull and don't get it on the paint

On the hardness scale, glass is way up there, 8 IIRC and the steel, well it's down the line. So if it's just glass and no outer layer of anything, you should be fine.

I guy I work with has a window scraper that he uses to clean frost off. Works great and much better than the plastic ones. It's made off brass. I'd like to have one of those myself.

Not to hijack, but both my car and Leslie's car has damage due to some Idiot grinding too close and throwing hot material at the glass. stuck on good. Any ideas how to get that off?
