Carolina beats Minnesota

That was a quick post......my money was definitely the other way!

Absolutely unbeliveable game by the Panthers.

Spot on defense. Peppers put HUGE pressure on Brett all game. We shut that passing game down, no doubt. AP wasnt even a factor, the Vikes looked totally deflated.

Matt Moore, PLEASE put this guy in as starter from now on, whether Delhomme is good to go or not. The ability to scramble, and make consistent complete passes WHILE on the move is a huge boost to any team. On top of that, the ability for him and Steve Smith to connect is what made this game. Its been a LONG time since I have seen Smith play a game as well as he did.

It definitely wasnt a bad game for the Vikings by any means, we just came in and totally shut them down.

Only downside to winning, if you wish to see it that way....is that Fox will almost definitely get another year with the Panthers....

wow!...ya know i didnt even bother watching the game, cause I figured it was gonna be a blowout. What I dont understand is this sudden out cry for John Fox's head...He is the only coach to take them to the Super Bowl so far...who do you think is gonna come in to replace him that has done that? Bill Cower? Please...he is happily retired. Jerry Richardson is a defensive minded, conservative, guy who is gonna win with class and hard work or not at all. I really admire the panthers for sticking to their guns and maintaining a class act organization. This is why I am still a fan. In a world today where its "here today, gone tomorrow" only a few clubs around the league have maintained a high character. The ones that come to mind are: Titans, Panthers, and Pats. I agree its more entertaining to watch high powered offenses putting up big points, but its pretty much proven that defense wins championships. The panthers will get there, and when they do it will be the right way, with class act players who deserve to win. Everyone would like to have a Tom Brady, Drew Brees, or Peyton Manning as QB, but fact is, its really tough to get all those pieces of the puzzle to fall into place at the right time to win a Super Bowl. You not only have to be good, but lucky too. The Panthers have most of those puzzle pieces there, if they can just have consistency at the QB position they will be a force. They dont really need a fantastic QB, just someone who can find the open man and not turn the ball over. The running game and play makers will take care of the rest. I think they might need to explore around at the offensive coordinator position, but John Fox has done a fine job IMHO.

Pats?!

Puhlease! Obviously caught cheating against the Jets, and its common knowledge they probably cheated many times well before that. The Pats are an organization rife with complete and utter garbage. Belicheat is an egotistical coach who does everything in his power to win, not because he thinks the fans will love it, but because he will get a boost to his rep.

Only three teams I really really HATE, Pats, Steelers and Cowboys....

Titans, I can agree with.

John Fox's record is too inconsistant to be an NFL coach much longer. He has an absolute impeccable record one year, and a garbage record the next. He needs to be able to coach through the "hard schedule" and the easy, and since he has been in Carolina, he has NOT proven that he can. He is only one of 3 coaches EVER, to be heading a team for 8 years with NO back to back winning seasons. That is not a good stat.

IMO, our problem, since the Panthers opened up their first season, has been absolutely crap coaching. John Fox has tried his best, and I honestly like the guy....but his record just is NOT good enough to make it in the NFL. The Panthers organization DOES deserve credit though. They gave Fox a chance. So many coaches have been through Oakland its like a roundhouse out there. Look at Mike Shanahan. Same deal. Off and On, and the Bronco's dumped him without any remorse. As for Bill Cowher....I bet he'd come back for a shot to coach the Cats.

And Id like to say...As good as Manning and Brees are (I'll leave my thoughts about Brady out of this..), both of them would be nothing without a great OLine and Recievers who can hold on to the ball and run routes that can drop those CB's and safeties. I suppose I am one of those guys who thinks the quarterback is NOT the center of the team....to me, there is no center....

And the only thing that you hear about on Sports Center is Favre and Childress fighting about who wears the pants on the sideline.

Carolina who? :shaking:

I was sitting right behind the panthers bench and the guys were fired up. The defense played like I haven't seen them play in a while and of course smitty and moore put on one hell of a show. Stewart did a hell of a job coming off the bench. I still think it is time for Fox to go and I def. think Mr. Richardson is going to throw a lot of money out there to try to get Cowher to coach Carolina. Although with this win and a win against either NY or NO they will probably be around for another year......
