Has anyone bought one of these roof light bars? I'm thinking of moving my hella 500's from front bumper to the roof. What experiences have you had? Would you recommend them?

Ummmm everytime I have had lights on the roof I have ripped them off on tree branches. Depends on where & how you wheel but something to think about.

My brother bought a carr lightbar used from Galloways a while back, wasn't for his jeep but he got it cheap cheap, cut it in half, added a few inches to make it right, sanded it down, painted it, looked great still and had no issues...

thank you guys for the responses! i am glad to hear no one has had problems with the carr light bars. when i get one this is the one i want. the trouble i have now with them mounted to the front bumper is they are like spot lights. two direct beams. i was thinking if i moved them to the roof to have them higher and farther from ground. will this fix the problem so they will light up the trail better?

it's all in how you aim them, that's what dictates how effective they are and what they illumunate.
if it's for trails, you probably want to see what's pretty close (e.g. within the 30-40' in front) as opposed to driving where you need like 100'+.
So you'll angle them down a bit, they'll spotlightthe ground in front of you. If you don't angle them you'll have a great view of tree limbs... not very usefull.
