4.0 help

i have a 97 tj with 4.0 and a flowmaster muffler.ive noticed that i couldnt hear the flowmaster anymore, then within a couple weeks it wouldnt hardly run anymore.i mean i could put it to the floor in nuetral and it wouldnt rev past 2500rpms also the cat was ratteling, and driving me nutts.so i made a high flow converter.it ran good for about a week and now its starting to run poorly again like before,it sounds like it is having to force the exhaust out(no good flowmaster sound)just forceing air also no top end.oh and i cleaned and oiled my air filter, just dont know what else to look for.help!!!

sounds like a chunk of the converter made it to the muffler and clogging it up intermittantly. try a new muffler or take that one off and clean it out

new converter, and clean out the muffler... although it may be fun trying to get the chunks out of a chambered muffler like that

No that is not true! They are right u have chunks of verter in the flowmaster!

i have been told that the computer has to have a working cat in order for it to run correctly is this true?
IIRC, post-converter O2 sensors only measure for performance of the converter. the front sensor is the one that affects the engine's performance
