cat converter question

I just got my 06 2500 ram friday. Well the dealership was supposed to put a cat on it. The truck recently has a 5" full exhaust, and i do not want them to cut it up and booger weld the cat on it. Does nc require diesels to have them to to pass inspection? And can you show me proof? That way i can show them.

Also, for those that are salesmen. What can the dealership do if i dont take it up there?
 
If it was originally equipped with it, it must be on there, although many shops let diesels by with it. I assume this was part of the deal when you bought the truck and the dealer is covering their ass for selling an illegal truck? Maybe see if they will just give you the front pipe with cat and let you take care of installing it?
 
two of these are in order to properly install your converter..... it's always best to maintain your emissions equipment.....

dont forget to test fit it with a straight section of pipe to ensure your cuts are in the right place; it will come in handy later too
