CB questions and service in Hickory

I currently have a Cobra 29wx nw st for my jeep that never worked very well, although I bought it tweeked and tuned 4yrs ago.
  • is there a shop in/near Hickory that could take a look
  • OR would it be easier to buy a handheld radio? Any reccomendations?
 
What is the SWR reading?
 
i know there one on 321(miller electronics) in hudson he can check it out,what's it doing?
 
most of your cb problems come from your antena & coax,is coax long enough?plus don't just bunch it up take extra & coil it up put tie on it. then see if you have self tuned antena or whip if whip have tune it by shortning it or make it longer & you have check swr for that hope this help you out some.
 
The radio is not plugged in at the moment so I can not get a SWR reeding. The last time I used the radio i was in Tellico and could barley hear/talk to the guy infront of me.


I am taking a trip to Uwharrie next weekend and since I do not know the trails I want a radio that works well.
 
Just called Miller Electronics and it looks like he can give me the help I need. Thanks for the quick responses
