Cell phone service

When I am in the area my verizon works well and my sprint/nextel is dead s a door nail

X3 on Verizon for best coverage; just be ready for getting nickeled and dimed for every little extra service.

Ill fifth Verizon. I had Cingular and it sucked. Friends have ATT and it is ok, but Verizon will get you that 1 bar when you really need it, while everyone else is "Searching..."

Id hope since Verizon bought alltel and they work off the same towers now ;)

I dont think that merger is finished yet...so I dont know if they are working off the same towers just yet. Before Alltell was running off of Carolina West's towers...

No, the merger is not complete yet, I was checking that out the other day.

Probably not till middle/end of '09 before all the licensing and freq splitting is done

Something about one company owning over half of upper and lower 850mhz spectrum, I'd have to go back and read it again.

I'm Verizon for work and personal, and while the coverage is pretty decent, I'm usually in places where it's not, though so of that seems to be phone related.

I know where I can and can't make signal most times, but usually get caught loosing it in the middle of a customer conversation, sux, but it's reality.

NONE of them have absolute coverage.

T-mobile is new to the area and took over the Suncom system. They are highly ranked nationally and we have been building sites like crazy in the area. Just another to check out. You can go to T-Mobile.com and check the coverage at your address.

I have AT&T and it's so crappy that I literally have to go outside into the front yard to get a signal...and I'm only maybe 10 miles outside Hickory...can't wait to change when this contract is up in Feb.

Screw ATT! I put up with their crap for too many years ("it's a phone problem" :shaking:) and switched to Verizon.

Why? After finding mbalbritton chatting with his wife from just past the rocks on Schoolbus (both Nextel & ATT had been DOA 20 minutes before Murphy, much less out Hanging Dog) and the fact that Verizon phones actually work IN my house (had to go out to road and contort into stupid "human aerial" shape for AT&T to get 1 bar... only to drop upon connection), it was a no brainer.

ATT has slowly been upgrading here, I now get 1bar of Edge  signal with the corporate iPhone in the house... IMHO = too little, too late)

Typing on one as we speak.
Verizon also...

What ever you do dont go with nextime (nextel). I call it nextime because your call will go thru nextime. Nextel was ok for a while until Sprint took over and all they think about now is developing new phones. Heck they need to think about there service. You buy the top of the line phone today and within 5 months its out dated.:shaking:
