I have a '98 TJ with a 15 gallon tank that I just changed out the fuel pump on. After I had it swapped and re-mounted, I took it and put a half a tank in it at the gas station, and the fuel gage read a half tank, just like it should. But since I got home from the station, now when I start it it reads empty. There is still gas in the tank, and I checked the electrical connection and it seems to be good. The pump is energized and the Jeep runs fine.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

i hav a 1997 tj and i replaced my fuel pump and it done same thing so i went back and filled the tank all the way up and fuel gauge works fine now. so try filling it all the way up worked for me. good luck

Hey man don't you love having a neighbor that works on everything. Hope the gauge is still working for you. When are you going to sell your winch and get a warn?
