A/C in my mom's 2000 300M just took a dump. Who in the South Charlotte area would any of you recommend as an A/C Specialist. I don't want her going somewhere that is just going to throw parts at it or guess. Its been hit or miss finding good A/C work in the past so I am skeptical going to just any shop.

I can look at it for her. I'm in rock hill though. That's REALLY south charlotte. I work on hondas for a living but I do a good bit of side a/c work.

The A/C/ went out on my wife's 1999 Concorde one day last summer and I took it to our local place, Walt's Radiator and Air Conditioning in Lexington. Come to find out, the cooling fan was the culprit. He diagnosed it by first pulling the cooling fan relay and jumping it. The cooling fan is set up on that car (and I would assume that the 2000 300M is identical) to cut off the A/C as a safety if the cooling fan goes out. An hour or so later, I had a new cooling fan installed and A/C kicking like a dream again. Didn't even need to charge it. Worth looking into.

I know Walt's would be a bit of a cruise for her, but they are good at diagnosing stuff without throwing parts in and guessing.

She saw a new puddle on the garage floor. Should have added that in there.

Interesting fact about that fan/relay trick. If I go down this weekend I'll look at that for sure.

@ManglerYJ is onto something. I used to see the fans fail and then the ac high pressure relief valve would vent refrigerant (and oil) out.
The expansion valves sometimes stick causing blockages and pressure spikes on those models.
