Cheap engine hoist/cherry pickers?

I'm gonna need an engine oist. None of my buddies have one, all for the same reason - its one of those things you need very rarely and it takes up a lot of space unless you have a big garage.

I just found these cheap ass things on Fleabay - only $56 delivered...?

I can't understand how that is even possible.

Whats the catch, are they super sketchy? Is this a game of roulette every time you use it?
For that kind of money I'd just use it then sell it for beer money and move on.

EDIT: OK so that link is only the leveler kit, which makes more sense.

But what about the $150 units? Are these all from teh same factory in china regardless?

I used the HF one and it held a SBC , sm465 and 205 combo. I didn't die

I actually bent the boom on mine trying to pull the motor on my truck (LS) because i forgot a motor mount bolt. Bought a piece of 2.5" square toob and replaced it. She still good

Haha, no, I have an old Ramco engine hoist that weighs like 500lbs and could lift a house if it would fit under it.
