Have any of you ran one of the $100 harnesses that are out there? I don't mind buying a good one, but I'm not 100% sure that's where my issue lies.

This is if I can't find any issues when I pull mine out.

Lt1swap.com for all the harness info. I built my own, starting with a factory harness, in an evening at the dining room table (wife was out of town lol).

Lots of bad reviews on the $100 options. Some require a complete diagnosis to ensure wires are run correctly. With that much work required, I found it easier to just make my own.

I’ve ran several eBay harnesses…. And to be fair they are nicer than the 2 Holley ones I have now. C10 I have is a 100$ eBay unit. Impala was for several years until the turbos and the want/need for Holley.

I'm familiar with all that.
This was a project that already had the harness thinned by someone else. The car seems to be having issues that are coming back to the harness.
Plan is to try to find any issues and move on to something else if I cannot.

If it was a factory harness, check for hard/brittle wires are the connectors. That was the pain point for myself (specifically at the cam sensor and oil pressure sensor). Also check under the blue/red (or green) covers at the ecm connectors. A bad oil sensor will send oil all the way back through the wires and cause connection issues.

I understand the desire to just move on though. It’s certainly crossed my mind a few times but then I remember all the work needed to ensure the new harness would work.

those harness are not completely terrible but a few customers have used em and gave me issues. most common I've found is wires not snapped in all the way into connectors. nowadays I do resistance test on each pin to the plugs from ecu and that saves having to disassemble the whole harness if I suspect a bad one, but I use BP Automotive or Speartech only now
