I'm putting an Old Man Emu YJ suspension and conversion kit on a 1984 CJ7 as well as a 1" polyurethane body lift. The supplier fells like red grease is fine especially for the greasable fittings. I've got my doubts but 14 oz prothane is 5 or 6 times the price of red and I don't know how well it pumps from a grease gun. What's your experience?

The consensus, then, surely goes to Superlube with PTFE (Teflon) at $12 to $15 per 14 oz tube. I'm satisfied.

The manufacturer says it is available at ACE hardware but I haven't had a chance to run over there yet.

ACE at 8111 Creedmore Rd in Raleigh has ONE 3 oz tube left on the shelf but says it will restock within a week. $5.49 plus tax. Finding a 14.5 oz cartridge locally may be tougher since most of the suppliers (Bearing Distributors, Johnstone Supply, Motion Industries, etc.) sell wholesale rather than retail and may not want to break a case even if you do qualify for wholesale. I don't, unless I try to fake it and pay cash.

One more place to try tomorrow.

No luck on that. I've ordered a cartridge from AAA Industrial Supply (aaaindustrialsupply.com). $11.12 + $0 tax + $5 shipping on orders under $25.

SHIPPING IS FREE on orders over $25. So if anyone (and a couple of buddies) need 3 or more cartridges, the cost would be $11.12 each + $0 tax + $0 shipping. Buy several. Give them as gifts. Use caution with this.
