Cherokee problems

its a 96 it idles a little weard. sometimes it idles perfict sometimes it idles down and cuts off. Its not throwing a code, so its making it hard prob to fix. Anyone had anything similer happen to them?:beer:
 
i have had the same problem and still do a little bit still goes up and down a bit but wont die out. it threw an 02 code so i changed the sensors and that helped a good bit. also try running a can of seafoam through it by taking the vaccume line off the brake booster and pouring it in. other than that it helps to keep the gas above a quarter tank.
 
mine was shutting off and running rough, changed the throttle position sensor, and idle air control.... made a HUGE difference, and they are pretty affordable
 
Well just seen this old thread of mine. i had replaced the engine in this particular cherokee, had the timeing off a little. i think i was 1 tooth off on the distrubuter. Found TDC, Lined up the rotor button on the #1. Ran perfict, Drove it to the OBX, No Problems! Thanks for the help. Even a wrong suggestions help me trouble shoot, keeps my brain working. Thanks again!!!!
