cherokee transfer case breather?

i was out playing in the muck this weekend at URE,and started losing tranny fluid.someone told me it was because ive clogged up my tranny breather. Ive looked all around under there and havent found it or even know what im lookin for.anything you can help me wth would be helpful.These are things i should know but never have had to deal with before.

just in case it matters..Its a1987 cherokee XJ with a 4.0 auto and its not the part time 4x4.anything you need to know just ask ill try to answer so i can get this problem fixed

Is the tranny showing low on the dipstick...how do you know you're losing fluid? The title says t-case, but then you ask about the tranny. I think both use ATF, but the fluids don't mix.

oh yeah the transfer case is leaking atf out the rear drive shaft thingy.i dont know what its called but you stick the drive shaft on it then bolt it to the rear.the tailshaft maybe?anyways after it dries up out there ill go see what i can find.as far as a tube like what i seen in your pic.maybe take some of my own.

ok today i got under there and found the tube in the picture and there is a hose run up to the engine bay well above the "water line" on my jeep.i dont think it was stoped up.i maybe wrong though.anyone wanna give some input on this?
 
Are you still running a slip yoke rear driveshaft? Could be that the tcase seal needs to be replaced, not hard to do at all. It could be old, cracked, worn, etc.
