Is there any difference by year or other reasons in the housing of the np208 tcase? I know that they were offered with either a 27 or 32 spline input but are there any differences in the actual shape/size of the case's for any reason? Or are they all the same? Reason I'm asking is cause kinda in a bind with my buddies k5 we swapped in a rear 14 bolt and need to get the driveshaft shortened but I don't want to measure for the driveshaft then put in a new 208 case and find out its a different size than the old busted one after we've already gotten the driveshaft shortened. Reason im wanting to get the dshaft done is cause litteraly as soon as we get the case the guy has to go back home cause hes already havin to miss work cause the tcase busted and needs to get home asap.
Thanks

All chevy 208's have the same dimensions. The splines on the output are all the same size. U-joints are different sizes, but there is a conversion u-joint that allows you to run a 1/2t d-shaft (either 10 or 12 bolt size) to the 14 bolt.

Usually when swapping in a 14 bolt for a 1.2t axle d-shaft mods (aside from a conversion joint) are not required, especially when the truck is lifted.

Like you said, you'll have to shorten the shaft because the pinion on the 14b is longer than a 1/2 ton axle. Essentially, all GM 208's are the same. It's the adapter that's different, and the input shaft accordingly. Other than that, it's a mirror image.
