Im looking for some info, on any one who has taken a Cj-5 1976 model and placed it on a Chevy 1/2 ton Axle set up.

E-mail me or PM me please.

Have lots of Questions to ask.

Thanks

I havent personally done it, but i know that in the front it requires you to outboard the spring perches to fullwidth which i believe is 31.5" centerpin to centerpin.... In the rear you just need to move the perches on the axle into the same width as the jeeps leafs

cj5 on 1/2 tons

i have done it i took a 77 chevy truck with 44 front and 12 bolt rear and installed them on a 78 cj 5without exstending the frame . i started with a spring over set up and yes you have to out board the front springs or to install blocks on the outside of the frame on the front and it is best to do a shackle reversale the steering can be done with a crossover style or i had my chevy steering arm cut and turned so i didnt have to have the crossover .and i also found that the steering box off ofthe fullsized waggy,s worked better than the cj box they have a quicker ratio .the front also needs to make sure up get to camber caster settings before you start so you can install them to get the same numbers .the rear is simple just relocate the perches but make sure you dont try to point your pinion yoke staight at yourt case yokeyou will end up breaking it it needs ti be pionted down about 2 to 3 degrees down to allow the rear end to rotate up wards .hope it helps this set up i have ran for 4 years now on leaf springs with out any probelms . except breaking those weak ears out of the chevy yokes with those weak straps .randys ring and pinion has a 12 bolt yoke that uses dana style u bolts and it works great an is strong
