My new CJ has a fiberglass body that isn't quite fully attached to the frame yet, and I'm not sure if it wasn't finished because the mounts don't line up correctly or if the body or frame is missing a mount. I can see where the rear-most mount just behind the rear axle, the one just in front of the forward rear leaf spring hanger, and the one under the floorpan mount, but it looks like there is one about a foot in front of that. Only problem is, where it would mount to on the body is a thiiiin piece of 'glass that looks like it's meant as more of a stone shield.

If any of yall with CJ-5s get a chance, I'd appreciate it greatly if yalll could run out and snap a few pics of the front two body mounts.

Also, other than at the grille, are there supposed to be mounts anywhere between the firewall and radiator, or is the grille/core support/radiator bracketry/whatever the front support and the fenders bolt to the tub for support?

Thanks

The only mounts in the front are one under the grille and the two at the firewall...at least for a CJ7. The fenders bolt to the grille and the tub with no other support. There are also two rods that go from the upper firewall/cowl area to the top corners of the grille. These rods and the fenders help stabilize the grille.

Can't help you with the other questions.

Ill try to get ya a pic of my rusty junk this weekend.

2 @ rear crossmember
2 @ inside fuel tank hanger
2 @ in front of rear fender
2 @ center of seats
2 @ fire wall just outside of frame rails forward part of
floor pan. these are the ones you are talking about,
I doubt the fiber kit needs them an that is why they
are omitted.
1 @ center of radiator.

My Fiber glass boddy sits on 9 mounts. The ones just in front of the rear fenders have never been installed. weren't there when I got it, and haven't had any issues yet.... then again, I've not rolled it, but I do have a Cage Frame tie in kit.

The mounts that I had a problem with are the ones at teh fire wall. the glass broke there and I wnet back with some plate and bolted it between the mount and the tub to disperse the weight.
