Dude I was so going to buy that with my income tax money. Whats your plans for it?

Get it running again...This jeep is really solid with hardly any rust...no frame rust what so ever!

Congrats on the buy and good luck with the build.

looking forward to seeing the progress.

Does that thing have a Petty race scheme going or what?

Yeah pretty stoked to get this one going!

I'm looking to get a truck cab top to go retro....but probably won't run a top on it much when it's nice out. Also did some body work today on the rear quarters....

make sure you keep us updated with pics as you make progress. I REALLY wished I had the money and a wife that wouldn't divorce me if I brought another project home, so I could have picked this up. It's on my list of vehicles that I really want to own someday. I want a Scout, Jeepster, Scrambler, and Cherokee Chief or other full size Jeep someday.

The only thing I didn't like about yours is the top. Looks goofy to me. It just needs some windows cut into it or something.

I'll be out working on the scrambler tomorrow so I'll have some updated pictures of the progress!

Did some more work on the paint job, body, wheels and tires. Mainly stripped all of the gunk and oxidation off of the paint with goo gone. I'm going to rhino line the interior soon or use a similar product in a spray can from home depot. I used it on my 78 cj7 a while back and liked the results. Also going to paint the rest of the interior black...so no more red and blue richard petty scheme...LOL!Decided not to run the 33's for now but down the road may add some bigger tires towards the end of the build. So 31's are good for now!

I prepped the inside of the tub today with a wire brush and the tub is in great shape besides the drivers floor pan! Hopefully I can rhino line the interior this weekend! :D

It should look like the inside of my old cj7 when I'm done!

Started painting the interior today..man the scrambler is waaay bigger than a cj! Also painted the frame black since it was blue like the body.

Started painting in the bedliner and resufaced the flywheel. Now I need to find the right bolts for the clutch pressure plate and install!
