Been busy this winter. This was my first real fabrication project.

The way it looked in December.

I aquired a dodge dana 60 ff and a j20 dana 44. ECGS is only 30 min from me so I had the front freshened up with a Spartan locker, chromoly shafts, new brakes, flat tops milled, and setup for SOA. The rear I took care of with a matching Spartan locker and brake kit from Gubni.

So here's where the work started. Out with the old.

I debated between making my own outboard brackets or kit and ended up deciding kit from Dave Custom's which included a front bumper and left the shackle in stock form.

Checking the stance with Yj springs. Front is 4" lower than before.

Getting rear axle in and measured for pinion angle. CV drive shaft angle is much better being lowered with stock height springs. Pinion length plus lower stance required drive shaft to be shortened.

Picked up some Ford shock towers and welded them at all four corners. The longest Bilstein 5125s I could buy fill in the space.

The Yj springs are as told, really really soft. Either I bent one during a trial run down the neighborhood or the seller did. Now that shocks are on axle wrap isn't too bad on the road. But I'm planning Alcans for the rear now anyhow. Most I've read say they don't need a traction bar with them. All in all the jeep rides the best it ever has.

The only thing I notice is the front axle can move side to side some when turning. There seems to be a lot more twisting up front. I need to get a steering box brace for the front as the MORE brace still lets the box move.

It's been great this past week. Now I need a full cage and really want MSD's fuel injection kit
