I have a cj5. i broke the axle(amc 20) that was under it. I can get a different set of Dana's to go under it a 44 for the rear and a 35 for the front. how would i go about putting them under my jeep. What hardware\modifications would e need to do?:

What did the donor axles come out of? I do not think there was ever a Dana 35 front axle. Questions like these need more information to be answered properly. What year is the CJ 5?

Depends on the year the donor axles come out of, and what year your 5 is. It will be a Dana 30 front, not a 35.

It would already have a Dana 30 in front with discs. Why would you swap it for another one?

What terrain do you plan on enjoying in your CJ5?

Lite to mild off roading?
Heavy to hard core wheeling?
Burnouts at the local cruise-ins?

Did you snap your axle shaft?
Twist off the two piece axle hub?
Drive off a rock and bend the axle tube?

On the AMC20's you can build them to withstand some abuse, starting with one piece axles, then some trussing of the axle tubes, throw in a locker....or not. It's all in what's broke, and your wheelin' needs. Later, T.J.
