This is just a little info that I learned a couple of days ago, and thought I would share it
Power steering
An upgrade box that's a direct bolt on, and cost less than the reman CJ box is the J20 box. It has a faster, variable ratio (13to16-1)and a larger piston for less effort. It has the large input spline and the same spline for the pitman arm. Match the year of your CJ to the same year J20, to get the right power steering hose fittings (metric o-rings-later vs standard flare-earlier).
It is a direct swap
I found a Cardone reman part# 276505 for a 78, at Oreilly's for $111.99, $50 core
thats a deal for an upgrade
