Another growth spurt

I've had this thing for 22 yrs. Started out bone stock with a 304 and 88,000 miles. Seems to have grown over the years.I was thinking about a strech to help with rear driveshaft it seem to keep getting shorter. My son and I are working on a J10 project also. I think I'll keep it kinda stock untill he's old enough to modify it himself one @ the time is enough for the old man!

It's been going slow but making progress, have more pictures will get them moved to build section. Word of wisdom don't pick up t18 by shifter handle, it pulled out and pierced my bottom lip, took out 2 teeth and 18 stiches in the top of my mouth $$$$$$$ there went my new seats! Sorry no pictures:mad:

Man I love what your doing with the CJ. I would like to go through my CJ that way(maybe not so high). I just like driving it too much:driver:. As far as picking up the tranny by the shifter it sounds like we have the same luck (don't put a drum break spring on with channel locks it might slip off, 3 stitches in my eyebrow:lol:). Keep posting the pics, I like the one of the jeep:wheel: on the car.

Looks like might need some rear fender trimming....Other than that, this is one big jeep. (thumbs up)

You know you knock about 20 horsepower off by painting that engine another color besides AMC blue? ;)

You wouldn't believe the :poop: I've heard about that, the guy @ the machine shop wouldn't let me put the timing chain cover in his office (said the color hurt his eyes). I had 12 cans of chev orange in the garage "free".

Is that an Acme fiberglass hardtop and doors on it in this pic?
If so, do you have any more pics of the '5 with the hardtop/doors on it that you could share in this thread?
Thanks!
Yeah that was a Acme top that picture was taken in 92. I didn't know there was a picture a guy sent it to me about a year later. It was a nice looking top but I mostly drove it in the summer and it was a hassle to take on and off so I got rid of it. I'll see if I can dig up some old Kodaks.

With the amount of $$$ you are investing, what's another few cans of paint?

Aright, things are back on track, making some progress trying to have it together by summer. To update, streched front 8'', rear 8'' trying to get better drive shaft angle. Installed 5.86 in rear, almost finished the disc brakes. Rebuilt t-18, sticking with d-20 tc for now. Modified stock CJ trans. mount to fit T-18 trans. Made primer shaft for oil pump to fit drill, got 70lbs. oil pressure.

Progress looks good.

Keep us posted!

Had a pretty productive day Carson painted transmission mount, installed transmission and new mount, played around with oil pump primer and set distribotor timing.
