I am looking for someone in Greensboro who knows how to install windshields and wants to make a couple bucks. I have a new windshield frame, windshield and seal for a 79 CJ5 all you have to do is show up and install it or I might be able to bring it to you. There is no old windshield to remove.

I know there are several glass companies in greensboro but I would rather pay an individual then pay a company who then pays a guy 12-14 dollars an hour to show up.

IIRC it's pretty easy to do with one other person. Put the gasket on the glass, take some small string and wrap around the gasket one time letting it meet in the center (bottom w/ the string ends hanging out). Place the bottom of the windshield in the frame (from inside of vehicle) and push, have someone on the outside grab the string tails and slowly pull them out around the glass (pull both directions at the same time. If you spray the gasket w/ silicone it should slide right into place. Hope this helps.

Cool! I thought there had to be a trick to it, I guess I will just do it my self then.

Thanks for the info!

Wanna come put one in my XJ now? I only have to bend the passenger A pillar back out about 2 inches and then backfill the gaps. :D
