So I was bored and drinking in the garage after my boring azz CCW class today (still drinking BTW) and heres what I have come up with.
I have a CJ7 that needs 'new' leaf springs in the back. Do I put in a another set of YJ SOAs or do I want to try whatever that spring is when you run on a CJ and the rear shackle mount is behind the frame and mounted pretty far up the frame. Is that FSJ / chevy or what? Second, if while I was at it, push the rear axle back a tad( 4 "), cut my fenders at the top of the curve and splice about 6" of length in there to accomodate the tire moving, then splice in about 18" of rear panel so then it would be a fuller and longer wheel opening/ longer rig. That would net a CJ-8 looking thing with a slight CJ6 wheelbase. Looks to be a little bit of frame stretch and some sheet spliced in. Gains tons of interior storage and the benefit of longer wheelbase without the wierd looking comp cut. Not too much trouble and nets lots on interior space.
