So I started this little project about a month and a half ago. Got my YJ for the damaging trails, so I wanted something I can drive to the trails, 'wheel, and drive home, or load up and go camping for the weekend. This is the result. Ended up buying two of these, but decided on keeping the long(now shorter) bed. Thought it might interest some of yall. Still got a little work to do, but it is turning out better then expected.

looks awesome! cool project. i wanted a truck type rig, but ended up building something a little different! dave

cool, good to see those tires getting some use. when youre ready for a different front bumper, let me know:)

Think I might pull that one today, maybe start on fabing one. Will yours work with a ramsey 8000? I like the look, but I've seen a couple others I really like too. And I'm too cheap to buy one when I can attempt to make it. This whole truck has been built on a strict budget. All parts have been bought used except for gears and shocks.

yeah, its designed for an m8ooo or ramsey 8ooo. i can order you just the laser cut/bent blank if you want one (preet cheap) cool truck. can't wait to see it in action. dave

Heck Yeah.....glad to see another comanche with us! that thing is SWEET

mac

i think you should trade me your truck for my super clean DD 85 EFI xtended cab yota. i will even let you keep the tires!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! nice ride man. keep the pics coming

I'd have to be out of my mind to trade a jeep for a yota. Both the guys I run with wheel yotas, so I catch hell all the time, but I dish out my fair share. Does your's have the standard rust package on it, never seen one without it. I'm just messin with ya, 'preciate all the compliment guys, especially from a toyota guy.

actually no it doesnt its the nicest one i have seen around here!!! anyways! no rust on the body and the paint and decals are still shiny, the frame is perfect and the interior is almost perfect except for some dirt here and there, and not a single crack in the dash. i am building a yj as well right now and the yota is my DD. i wanted to build it but its way to nice...but i do like your truck... keep it up!

That is a beautiful Jeep truck man, I love that front end on that truck, totally awesome!!!

hey man, do you still have that other commanche for sale. May be interested. dave

hey, good to meet you, that manche is cool. Did you and Jody get the stroker worked out? I've got an 89 block laying around at the shop. Eric and i will be in touch about that comanche:huggy:

we may try to go with you, when is it? 2 weeks, we've done more thinking on the comp rig, looks like a go. Eric said you may be interested in selling just the comanche shell?

done

Few more pics, did a little body damage at DPG this weekend. My friend who did all the bodywork is going to be pissed.

hey i got some pics from dpg of you. i was the kid that was with john lewis, the guy with the white cherokee.

Back to the top with this. So almost 5 years after I built this, I bought it back for the 3rd time. It is in pretty much the same shape as when I sold it a few years ago. I'm picking up a smittybilt winch for the ARB bumper before I take it to Harlan over new years, then I plan to DD it around town with some mild wheeling mixed in.
