Well the doubler is installed. One cross member is in, still have to make the one for the 231, but I have a head start with some of the pieces made. Then will come the skid plate.
Added a 1" spacer to get the fan a little closer to the radiator, man how those radiator fins eat at your flesh!
Got the tube fenders made and on, a whole story there in it's self. with my hood, frame and grill all katiwhompaus, it ain't straight, but, it still better that what I had, plus, it gives me more area to put tools, coffee cup and so on.
Engine mount is installed, helped the lean a lot!
Fixed a rock light that I took out on Kodak rock at URE
With the tube fenders, it took all my mounting area on the inner fenders, so plate were welded on to hold all that stuff, re-lays, horn, over-flow bottle, Pane lock off
more to do, but it's coming together, I wish there was more time between now and Dixie Run time, but at the same time, I can't wait!
Tomorrow headed up to Larry's Muffler shop in Taylorsville. I had to cut off my exhaust because of the shifter relocation after the doubler install and the flatter 300. I think I will be going with a Y pipe and single muffler. It will be the first time in probably 6 years that the sound will come from the end of the pipe and not the donut area.
After that, come home, build the other cross member, and skid. Weld on the anti coning ring for my spare 44, paint it and put it all together.
Finish grooving my tires,
bleed my brakes
by then the day will be gone
