ive been trying to fix my "common jeep issue" my speedo, tach and all other gauges have stopped working. im very new to jeeping but all the threads ive read pretty much talk about the ribbon behind tach. i have little to no time in it so far but i love my jeep and cant afford any speeding tickets. please can someone help.:wtf: JEEP MADE THIS?

sorry i should have gave more info on my jeep. its a 95 wrangler, right now im only slightly modified mostly parts i can make and bolt on due to the fact im new to jeeping and its my only transpo i have been gentle with the time down.

I know it's crappy, but it is fixable. The printed circuit or ribbon as you call it is in the back of the gauge pod.

Once you remove the pod from the dash, you'll be able to see the copper printed circuit. take a pencil eraser & clean the circuit at every point that anything makes a contact with it.

Good time to check light bulbs too.

x2 what Buckshot said.

woohoo...thanks guys

im tachin and looking good again. i started by pulling the tach assem. and when i didnt see anything that looked out of place(no corrosion) i decided to get out the test light and volt meter. as soon as i tested my light for a good ground i noticed the fuse had blown. after changing it and plugging the tach back all works well. thanks to all who helped with suggestions. after i seen the pasta salad under my dash :)wtf:), i had to eliminate about 13-8' long wires either not connected for anything or not being used anymore. much cleaner now.next proj is to install side markers at rear ( f/m leds = no side lights.):driver:

I thought you were talking about the five gauge pod in the center of the dash. The trick works well for other stuff too.

Just remembered there is a product called "Dielectric grease", available at most parts stores. Use this on plug in connections to prevent corrosion. It supposedly helps to make a better contact too.

it was all my gauges but after a week now all is good.( always inspect fuses and their connection good) fuse wasnt making good connection in the block due to after market add a link that i removed with the 13 wires for alarm...oops.:driver:
