It said 4500 on the side. How much does that truck cost?

Those are definitely cool. IIRC when Ford, GM and IH were making those things the cheapest were still around 100k on up to about 250k. There's a guy in my neioghborhood that picked up an F650 4x4 a few years old for 50k...so they seem to be holding a decent value.

My folks had an F550. Powerstroke, full Banks kit, and a bunch of other extras. It got close to 20MPH towing a 33 foot Titon 5th wheel trailer. First truck I ever drove with an automatic that down shifted on decel. Built to tow.
I'd love to afford an International MXT. Just about the biggest "pickup" you can drive without a CDL.

Too bad GM dropped them. My boss had a 2wd one that he towed 16 golfcarts on from Georgia without a problem what so ever. Also put my 96 blazer on the car converted golfcart trailer that was a 5th wheel, and you couldn't tell it was back there....

I woulda thought it'd be faster than that...:bounce2:
I assume you meant MPG?

i thought the mxt had air brakes witch would require class B, but i'm not sure so i don't know why i'm even saying anything.

The 4500 2wd crew cab with a shorter wheelbase and simple flatbed could be had new for around $42,000 new. The 4wd version same configuration could be had for less than a fully loaded duramax dually. I looked at them very hard. Nice trucks. Higher gvwr than a 3500 and less price. Just a little worse fuel mileage.

my buddies boss has a International CXT. that thing is loaded. he went to Cali or Florida one to get it. its red with snakeskin leather seats. i drool everytime i see it. i was thinkin you could drive a air-braked eqipped vehicle with out a CDL as long as it was under a certain weight?

I have a 41 ft deisel coach with air brakes, weighs 33,000 empty not even fuel, and a 16 year old girl can drive it legally. It's not a commercial vehicle. As long I don't run it through my biz I'm OK. It's taxed as a second home! Pulling my car trailer I was 63 ft and 102 wide. Got tight going into Tellico through Green cove!

Check the laws they have changed recently. Any truck and trailer comdination has to abide by the same law. Even a pickup with a goosneck or tag along over a certain weight has to have atleast a class A not a cdl class A, and its not the same 26,001 lbs and over anymore. DMV loves to sit at the racetracks around here and bust people. Laws have even changed for farm and recreation vehicles.

People get CDL and CVM confused alot. I could type out all of the laws put heres the short version.
CVM= any vehicle with a gvwr of 10,001lbs or more used in commerce hauling persons or property for profit.
CDL= vehicle or vehicle plus trailer with specific weight ratings require special license.
CDL A= a vehicle with a gvwr of more than 26,001 lbs plus pulling a trailer with a gvwr of 10,001lbs or more
CDL B= a vehicle with a gvwr of more than 26,001lbs by itself or pulling a trailer with a gvwr of 10,000lbs or less.
CDL C= transporting any hazardous material, transporting 15 or more passengers (bus driver)
Also you must be 21 years or older to be able to get a CDL.

You don't have to be 21 to get your CDL, you have to be 21 to be able to drive out of state, my buddy is 20 and has had his CDL since shortly after turning 18, he is allowed to drive anywhere within the State.

Well I know the owner of the farm at my house got a ticket for not having the proper liscense and was wrote for for a few other things while hauling some stuff on his goosneck near raleigh. Also got him on weight. But told him even if the stuff was registered for the farm he still had to have his class a's. Don't know if it was bs but he ended up having to get his cdl's.

New law is any combination less than 26k gross is okay with a Class C non-commercial. RVs have always been exempt. The only problem with the 26k law is how it's enforced... you could still get ticketed if you're hauling an empty goose with your dually. If dually GVW is 13k, trailer is 14k, you're over.
