You've got to love the shipper.incharge@gmail address. It's amazing that this scam ever works for these people

I played along with one for several emails and I waited on the check. I think the guy finally caught on to the fact that I was playing with him. He stopped. If you can get more info from him you can report the info to some agency that tracks people down doing this crap. Don't recall which agency that was though.

this scam is about as old as the internet. there are warnings for it plastered all over craigslist.

nobody will show up....they send u a bogus check and an email saying "my secratery cut it for $10,000 instead of $1,000, i know u are an honest person so if u could transfer me 5k and u can keep the rest for ur troubles." then poor helpless stupid people say ok and send them a check for 5k and take the 10k check to the bank to only find out its a fake and there out 5k. the only thing u can do is play with them and draw it out forcing them to mail u a bogus check that is secured from nigeria or wherever they are and that costs $50. so there out there own money that they screwed off some other poor soul. they dont want what ur selling...just the "extra" money they accidently sent you.

The sad thing is, if they would just spend *a little* time cleaning up the English so that it sounds like a semi-intelligent person, like somebody in your home town, then many more people would fall for it.
I mean come on, even scammers need standards. Maybe I'm just in the wrong business.

i had something similar when sellin one of my vehicles.... i played along with it, and told him that i would contact the shipper as soon as the check cleared... of course it never did, so i never sent them a dime nor contacted their "shipper"....

course mine didnt ask for all that stuff... just address, and name.... ive seen and heard of it many times, and cant believe anyone would fall for it

look for 314 eaters or something similar. Its a website dedicated to a guy who does nothing but scam scammers.

Once they email him he uses their email to email them saying they have won some contest and if they will just carve some sculpture/write so essay/ or take some photograph or make a movie etc. he can pay them millions.

He has a huge warehouse/display full of all the crap they send.

Ill look for thee link tonight

sounds like the same email that mileshigh got on an email that he received after posting something for sale on craigslist
