trail ride

thanks guys for the pics, had alot of fun wheelin, i gotta work when you go to dpg, but hopefully next time. i gotta go to atlanta for honda training for the last time thank goodness. im glad i didnt put my sticker on today, that side would have been a waste

haha, how was the ride thru town like that? lol.....me, bret and johnboy got some looks.....we were the talk of mcdonalds haha

No one hit the hole that I know of but I laid mine on it's side in the mud going into the log jam.

lol, how the heck did you roll her there? But hey at least you got kinda muddy :driver:

edit: I was thinking frame twister, sorry roll in the log jam makes more sense :shaking:

There were quite a few near rolls trying to get to the right out of log jam. I know mine was on 2 wheels each time the front end slid to the left into the mud.

I hate mud!!! Finally after 6 hours total of washing the XJ is clean again. I did find some dents that I didn't know I got that were hidden under the mud. I'll get some pics of the total damage up tomorrow.

mine is still coverd lol. it will get cleaned somtime. my driver door window still works some how. it was a good time even thought it was muddy.

See, thats your problem, why in the frikin heck are you trying to wash the mud off of your offroad rig????

Thats like the absolute monumentally dumbest action you could quite possibly do, i mean i can understand if your trying to clean out your radiator or brakes but beyond that you are just wasting your frikin time washing mud off a offroad vehicle.

I have never washed mud off my jeep, hell it like many of people rigs here look better anyway in a coat of mud to cover up the crappy body/paint.

The problem I have with mud is I really don't like getting covered in it when I have to fix what I broke. As this trip went I destroyed my upper control arms and I would much rather replace them on a clean undercarrige vs. a muddy one. I also don't enjoy the fact that mud destroys every seal there is on a vehicle and it also has magical ways of getting into everything. Some of us don't have unbreakable trail rigs like you Ricky so we like to keep them clean so we can keep an eye on what's going to break next. An example is that after washing the XJ today I saw that I have managed to rip out crossmember bolt. Had I not washed it I wouldn't have seen it and my next trip out it would've broke and ruined my whole day.

Well as far as getting covered with mud when trying to fix, if you let it dry all you have to do is just tap it off

I just think ya'll (and I refer to the 90% of the board here) are just too skeered of getting a little dirty :shaking:

My trail rig unbreakable? Ha! I wish lol Good catch on the tranny cross member thou, but still aint no excuse to wash it :shaking:

btw: sorry I snapped above, I just get mad at everyone for beeing skeered to go throu mud :shaking:

You going to be at DPG on the 16th? If so then you can show us all how to get dirty. I will gladly stand back and watch. :D

my ish is currently down and out, and when I say my ish I mean all my ish, both the Z71 and the Jeep are currently not functioning :shaking:

Course when is my junk actually functioning anyway

Seriously don't get pissed of about the comments thou, pretend everything I say I'm laughing when I say it cause i pretty much am . . .

What about the 81 Chev??? Isn't it still up and going? It's built for mud so it will work great. I'm not getting pissed at all. I'll be the first to admit I don't like getting muddy. Dirty is one thing but I'll pass on mud.
