I've got lotsa digital pics. Up until recently I figured I would make prints of all of them. There are so many of them that I don't think that would be a good idea plus there are a lot that I don't care to print but would like to have. I'd like to create some sort of picture CD/DVD. What kinda software exists for doing this? I don't just want to stick pics on a CD. I'd like to put them in categories/folders with some templates for viewing on the computer and a DVD. What's out there and what does it go for?

For Christmas i bought a DVD burner to make a DVD photo/slide show of our wedding from last year.. It came with some free software that made the albums for your..

Granted it was not top of the line software and you didn't have a 1000 choices for options, but you could still do a lot with it.. AND the best part is, I didn't have to spend a boat load of time doing it.. You could import individual pics or entire folders of it etc.. Add background music.

I want to say it was a ROXIO product, but I can get the name/version when i get home.

FWIW: I recommend doing it on a DVD. I did that solely for the benefit of family members who still don't have a computer. But due to the larger capacity of the DVD I was able to get more on there anyway.. + I could make various menu/folders to break up the pics, and you viewed them just like you'd select extra features on a DVD..

I have a couple of clients that use Photo DVD Maker www.anvsoft.com $60 bucks. Make slideshows with a dvd type menu. Simple enough for them to figure out without bugging me all the time, but works very well for them in multiple formats.

One primarily uses it for slideshows at industry trade shows, the other on advertising display kiosks.
