Cross country RV road trip

Oh, it should go without saying that you can use AI for trip planning. We used Grok (xAI/Elon) to plan the Ireland road trip. It'll give you pretty solid itinerary advice with daily schedules you can tweak.
 
Suggestion when trip planning; and I've experienced. if you are staying near a large city be sure to get to the other side of the city if you are leaving in the morning. We did this and avoided morning rush hour traffic on our way out and back to Moab. It was nice getting up in the morning knowing you already were past St Louis Denver or whatever and wouldn't have to fight traffic on your way out of town.

Because we were running late and we would just make camp by dark, we skipped one of the things Renee wanted to see and had never been to, the Gateway Arch in St. Louis. Drove on past to Danville, MO. That night, Renee made it clear that she really really really wanted to see the arch. So, we left the RV at the campground and backtracked 80 miles in the Jeep. Get there, and the whole area was socked in with fog. You could see about 50' up the tower, then it was lost in the cloud. Needless to say, she didn't bother ride to the top for no view.

We did go by the National Museum of Transportation afterwards and it made the backtrack worth it (for me at least).

I don't think it really matters with Grok. Just type your question. After a long enough thread it might start to forget parts from the beginning, but you can always start over in a new thread if that happens

I'd give it the number of days, number and age range of the kids, site-seeing priorities. You can follow up by asking it for links to the websites for the restaurants it suggests. Then ask it for a map link so you don't have to plug it all in yourself (although I end up doing that, too). Ask it to compare routes options, etc.
 
I really love the Fla panhandle. Some areas are really congested but others are tree covered with white sands and beautiful sunsets.
