It would appear that I will be PCS'sing (army lingo for moving) to FT Bragg around the Beginning of February. Name is Chris, I am a member of a couple 4WD Clubs, and Cliques up here in Washington, to include NW Wheelers, also a member of Pirate 4x4 and yotatech, and have subscribed to the local NCTTORA board. Now on to the good stuff:
I have a 93 4Runner with SAS / RLC / OBA / 5:29's / eLocker in rear, ARB locker up front / 36x12.50 TSL's that is pretty much the meat of my junk..it has been through alot. I love to wheel and have some plans for the future which include a 4.3 vortec, roll cage with partial exo (already have the roll cage just need to get it in) flat fender the front and bob/narrow the back a bit take out the glass and make a bed. Now for the pics....

cool rig. you know a guy named whiterubicon on pirate. he bought my old buggy and was in your club in washington i think.

EDIT: i think his name was dave, not positive though

sweet runner. If I lived in the Pacific NW I would never want to move so I imagine its not gonna be easy for you. The good thing is that we have similar trails here, wet, muddy, tight, and hilly. Good luck with the move.

Nice junk.. :huggy:
(And I use the term junk as a compliment, before all the webwheelers get their panties in a wad - look at his username dammit)
P.S. Thanks for serving... What's yer MOS?

No problem, I refer to it as my junk all the time:beer: , I like it better than say "Rig" and its not a "Truck" and if I say "SUV" people will think I drive an Escalade on 22's or something, so junk fits perfect.

My MOS, 92Y, and for you non military types I am the guy that goes and gets all the god shit for the lead throwers, plus I manage "property", its complicated. I am an E6 (Staff Sergeant) been in a little over 10 years, have deployed to Iraq (yes I invaded a country) and Afghanistan, and they still live with donkeys there:popcorn: I figure I do 5 years or so in Division, and the move back to my home, the GREAT North West.

Sweet junk, Its like mine would be if I had money

I have one warning... watch out for our 1/4" of snow. It will shut down everything. lol

Great looking runner! You'll miss the fact that you can go just about anywhere out there and go wheeling. There's too many people here (in NC) to do that. I came from CO and the last year there I went wheeling 3-4 times a week, all through the winter and summer. Here I have to plan a day or weekend to do it cause it's so far to the nearest place. (URE)

1/4" of snow won't.. but the ice will. Same as anywhere else in the country that stays right around freezing... :shaking:

Uh... lived here long?

What was that, about two yrs ago now? 1/2" of snow, and everybody got stranded. :shaking:

I remember all the stories afterward... everybody talking about how much "slicker" it was than regular snow. Horseshit. People around here just don't know how to drive when the white stuff starts falling.

Although, if he lives in the valley now, it probably won't be much different here than in OR. One or two little snowstorms a year that don't last long but fawk everything up for a day or three.

Uh... lived here long?

That was ice, numbnuts. :shaking:

Shit, 1/2 the Triangle is relocated Yanks, anyway. So when you say "people around here can't drive", you're talking about the same people who grew up in the snow.. difference being, when it STAYS cold, the ice crystalizes(sp) and give a bit more traction..and you know that.

I remember riding with Shilling during his first winter here, where he said the exact same thing - "People around here just can't drive in the snow".. 3 seconds later he looped the Taco on the ice.

Nah, it was definitely snow. There were flakes, they hit the ground and accumulated. That's called snow.

Ice happens when rain falls, then freezes. See also: sleet.

Yes, there were flakes. they fall, and stick, that's snow.

When the snow on the ground melts then freezes, that's also when you get ice... Not that a scanario like that ever occurs around here.
I'm sure the OTR drivers who log 100,000 + miles a year appreciate the thought that they can't drive in a 1/2" of snow either, because I remember seeing them having a hard time too.. :shaking:

Well I made it here afew weeks ago. We started out shopping for a house and we found one that was in a new construction area so we bought it. We will be closing on the 8th and should start out move in on the 9th, which is good because I report to Fort Bragg on the 10th and start inprocessing on the 12th. The family and I have been learning the area, and we are having difficulty with how spread out every thing is. The Tundra drageed the Junk Runner 3700 miles without even complaining once. I am looking forward to getting out and doing some wheeling and meeting future friends.

These are the only pics I have until I can find the data cable for my camera.

Where was that last pic taken? It reminds me of Utah.

Nice..... Be prepared for close to that this week. But that's a nice pic, and welcome to NC.

Hey, your first picture is backwards! Welcome to NC! Nice looking Tundra.
