Was wondering who was running bigger injectors in there 98.5-02 cummins. What brand? Size? Smoke amount? Mileage up/down? Other supporting mods? Trying to figure out what size I'm gonna get.
Here is what I've got: 02 auto w/TCS converter/vb, j-hook on stock turbo, quad box 45/85/120hp model, 16x8 cyc style air filter, 4 inch turbo back exhuast, relocated fuel pump.
I was thinking of a 75 edge injector set or BD diesel 90 hp set, maybe even the 60 bosch set.
I don't really use the box and was thinking I might sell it and get a smarty if I like the injector upgrade. I dd this thing and use it to hual around 8000lbs sometimes besides the weekend trips with the runner on the trailer.
Open to input.

Hey I have tried the edge they suck. I run mach 1.6 injectors. They seen to be doing real good for me. Don't smoke too bad. About 1 mile to gal.
Hey man how you been? How much were those and how much pwr are they rated at, you have an upgraded turbo to don't you?

I been ok. Me and my girlfriend just recently had a baby girl on dec 28. 2007. They are 80 or 85 horse power injectors. They have some mach 2 injectors that are 100 horse power. I upgraded turbo to a 62 mm High tech turbo. they say these turbos can be rebuilt and up graded.

Edge/diesel dynamics stage 2 here along with a juice/attitude. They of course give quite a bit more power through all 5 settings. Mileage-wise, I've not really noticed a difference. Smoke-wise...it went from almost no smoke to being able to block out the sun for anyone behind me (with the edge on 4-5).
The install wasn't too hard either.
I'm going to dyno it as soon as I install the intake elbow and meth injection and I'll let you know the numbers, as we have about the same setup otherwise.

I have the rv 275s from bosch here and they ran cleaner than my stock injectors with my smarty, I notice them more when towing than just daily driving. I have been happy with them and actually improve mileage a little when keeping foot out of it but I think I am going to be going with a larger set soon as well. Something in the 100-120 range but I dont tow that often and will be doing a turbo upgrade eventually.

Hey braxton how does just the injectors feel and smoke? I realize you run the edge but was wondering how it pulls etc with just the injectors and stock turbo.
Jp9519 so you like them? Do you plan to replace them cause you want more street pwr or more towing pwr?
Congrads on the baby Josh, it'll change your life for sure, my boy will be 4 months the 24th of this month, already my bestfriend and buddy. Did you run the injectors without the upgraded turbo at any point?

It pulls pretty well with the edge on 0...definitely better than it used to--but at the same time, the edge added way more power by itself than the injectors did by themselves. And they work very well together. It's got 315/75/16 bfg at's and a l/s and will spin both tires from a stop if I were to ask it and felt like wasting money/rednecking it up. It's not out of turbo yet either.

im running jammer III nozzles and they are great....lil smokey but they are way better than the rv275 or the 300 marine injectors....with a edge juice and those 100horse sticks i have plenty of power and great for towing....they do get hot with a sotck turbo with the edge on 5x5. most of the time i run the edge on level 3 driving and 1 or 2 when towing....i would go with the machs if i was you, they are cleaner burning for the same power...just you going to pay more for them....

i f you are looking for a good safe upgrade, the rv275 are the way to go 1.5-2mpg better, about 40rwhp added, very cheap upgrade, compliments a box very well

i didnt have mine pop tested...they are pop tested when they are made...only porblems that i read about is the copper seals making the motor run bad, mak sure they are clean....i reused the washers as well...just use some grease on the washer to hold it in place in reinstalling...you are going to have a rough idle and funny smell for about a min or two then should clear right up..

That's what the sales guy was saying, since I'm not going to be sled pulling or drag racing anything over 75 hp would be a waste, he suggested the 275 or 300 as they won't max the turbo out but will still have same or more pwr than my quad box on 45 hp. Hell it will pull 8000lbs up a grade above the speed limit (70-80 mph) now on 45 hp setting and I almost :poop: myself cause I'm so happy with it. Seems almost stupid to change it but can't pass up a chance to add a little more without mucking around with the computer. Lots of ppl say get a smarty and add injectors and be prepared to have a whole new truck, then add a module on top a get stupid, well stupid I've been to known to do before but reliable/safe/cheap is more important now. Thinking 275 or 300 set take the money saved and get a smarty and keep watch on the egts/boost a little more than in the past.

I am running a set of edge jammer 4 injectors. They give good power and are pretty inexpensive. If I was to do it over I would have saved up for a set of mach injectors, i was very impressed with them after a buddy got a set of mach 3s. I got a great price on a set of jammer injectors from http://citydiesel.net/ (no nozzle swaping and pop testing to worry about)

I like the 275s for towing and power and dont have to worry about egts at all. I just want to upgrade for more power for playing on the street. But the 275's and the smarty and a bobcat on a 20 ft trailer was enough to finish off my stock clutch. It feels like a totally diffrent truck than stock.

Well that sounds like what I'm looking for, not tire ripping street machine pwr, useable towing pwr is all I'm after. Guess I'll get them ordered here in the next few days. Thanks for the link to city diesel they have some good prices.

glad you posted this question. i might just go ahead and do this at the same time i do the t/c and v/b in mine i am in the samw boat as you just looking for the towing side should be picking it up at the end of this week

I have the Edge Jammer IIIs (100hp, 200ft-lbs). They work decent compared to what I have seen. A lil smokey for the power. When I go bigger, I'll prob go with DDPs. They are extrude honed and I've heard many great things about them.
