Been working on the rig the past couple days. Main things that got "done" were... Hydro Assist, Doubler, and stretched it about 10"s.

BIG Thanks to everyone, yall know who you are.

how do you like the dd machine doubler?

Why did you go with the 231 behind the reduction box instead of a flipped D300?

Nice build. Did you just push the rear out, or did you move the front forward as well to get the 10" of stretch?

The doubler was top notch. Duffy is a great guy to deal with and I received my kit on time. I've talked to some others who were having to wait a while, but I think Duffy has finally caught up with all his orders.

I had an extra 231 and a set of planetaries. If I break the rear case I have another parts case to use. Also I didn't have the coin for a 300 @ the time. We will see how this holds up.

Most of it was gained in the rear, I moved the front maybe an inch forward last year. I was sitting at 94" now I'm sitting 104-105ish.

your welcome :flipoff2: those 12+ hour days in the shop are def goin to be worth it when we go ride again. your yj is the HAWTNESS:lol:

lookin good.

Good Work! I like the cross member especially. IMO the 105" length is about perfect for the type of stuff we do. What will your crawl be with the doubler setup? Low and slow is the way to go and you've got it now!

lookin good, man wingnut 4x4 sure is puttin out some nice stuff lately, nice work fellas...

Jeep looks good !!

wingnut 4x4 ...how do I get in touch with them for some fab work??

Looking good Austin! you'll love the doubler set up!

I can't figure out what those hoop, U shaped things are? Shock mounts maybe?

wingnut 4x4...that is just what all our friends used to call farmboys garage, it isn't really a business... (sorry for any confussion)

Well its been about a week of straight work nights and i am beat. First to finish the buggy on thursday, wheel on friday, drive home and pull the transmission and build a mount for the back of the stak on saterday and working on Austins till tuesday night. I think the earliest we stoped working every night was 2:30AM. Feels like im still up at school.

The YJ is turning out real good. Its going to be a totaly different rig when it backs out of the shop. Taking a break on it for a few weeks while Austin and Matt go out west, but it should hopefully roll out before Winter break is over.

Thanks guys, hopefully it will all pay off. WN4x4 has def. been busy lately none of us have slept in the past 2 weeks. Stayed up all night to make my flight this morning as well but, I just got out to Breck and it's snowing :). About to wax the boards and head to Keystone in a few hours.

Anyways the doubler nets a 7.4:1 crawl. Final craw ratio will be 113; should really nice compared to my whopping 42:1 that I had before.

Front springs are stock yj's, rears are stock xj's with an s10 main added in (I'm on the hunt for us some more John).

They are indeed shock hoops Chip, going away from my inboarded shock set up. Too much hopping on climbs didn't really like it that much. Going to run a much longer shock this time around, outboarded on the hoops, should be alot more stable in the rear.

Any more ?'s just ask.

Looks good man. You guys have fun out there and I'll be up to Boone as soon as my junk gets rolling.
I"M SICK OF WAITING ON PARTS!!:shaking:

I would consider another option on mounting the assist ram. A Tab welded straight to the cast center section tends to break. Just a thought. Otherwise looks good!

A Tab welded straight to the cast center section tends to break!

If done properly it will probably be OK. If it does break you could always run a strap or two of 2"x1/4" over the diff from tube to tube and weld to that, similar to the trusses built for rear links. Have some caps handy to cap the ram hoses or steering box just in case.

Haha nice John, more creative than me. D.P. actually stands for Don Pedro's (the mexican place in CLT). We have probably eaten there enough to keep them in business for a while.

However, I really like the Done Pussyfooting one.

Tab on the cast should be fine, we heated it with a torch before final welding. Caps and plugs both in toolbox.
