On a D30 axle on the 2 piece axle side there is a retaining clip that holds the axle in @ the diff. When you put in a locker do you leave the clip out? I don't see any way to insert it after putting in the locker.
Thanks

no

Is it a center disconnect axle? Thats the only axle that might need one but Idoubt it. The nut at the end of a TJ axle pulls the axle outward so its not needed.

It's an 88 yj axle that has the disconnect on the right side. The clip is located on the axle at point where is goes into the diff.
Thanks

A lot depends on the type & brand of locker. Some have provisions to get that clip back in some don't.
The ones that do - it is usually only a small gap between the pieces leaving *just* enough room to weasel the clip in. Usually a PITA.

Depending on the design of the locker (and who you talk to) - that clip is not absolutely necessary. The axle can only move just so much with the cross shaft on one side and the outer axle on the other.

You can solve several problems all at once by eliminating the disco with a one piece axle.

Just a suggestion.

I had the same problem. I just left the clip out and havnt had a problem.
