If you're speaking of the aluminum d44 that came in v8 zj's ( I don't know what years) then it's not really worth anything. No aftermarket support in the gears and locker dept, (very) weak center section, and c clips. Keep looking.

What he said is mostly true...there are no current options for lockers unless you find a used Aussie locker. Gears are also hard to find. But, if you've got a ZJ/WJ with one already in it and can get the gears, locker and truss/plate the aluminum center section, they're capable of holding up to 35's locked, so they're not complete POS.

It won't be a bolt in to your Wrangler though, so keep looking. Try looking for an iron 44 from another wrangler or XJ.
 
its not alu. the center housing is cast and the tubes are steel but the numbers on it were 52070044 and then down below that on the same tag it had 3.73 60573-53. and it has disc brakes. dunno if that helps or not..d44 cover for sure with a rubber plug for the fluid hole came out or a 99 or newer v8 zj.

They didn't build a 99 or newer zj. :flipoff2: They were still Al (it's cast, its just cast aluminum) in the wj's, they just aren't c-clip axles.
