d60 lockrite

They are only as strong as the carrier. That said, tire size, horsepower, weight, and driving style factor in too. So maybe you could share that info with us so we give you a better answer.

They are strong enough, and when you break a shaft or hub, you don't break the locker like a detroit. Most everyone in the Muddevils with a front 60 is running a LR, several of them started with detroits.

Welded Diffs are stronger....no little extra little trinkets to go flying all to hell:flipoff2:

My lockrite just stripped out fairly early, I'll blame it on my bad luck. I've seen these lockers get wheeled long and hard under big tires and HP.

I was planning to wheel the next day so I got it welded up. WOW, going from a locrite to a welded front diff BLOWS! I never thought it would be so different. I'll be going back to a LR or another locker asap, I just don't want to put the jeep down long enough to get it fixed:wheel:

How Does it steer welded with the full hydro...I have crap ass hydro assist and mine does ok.

Steers fine until I turn:flipoff2: Kinda feel a kickback at full lock if I'm in the throttle, thought I broke something first time it happened. I've been welded in the rear and have never minded it, but now that the front is it feels like my turning radius has doubled. I started just putting the front axle in nuetral, turning the wheels and matting the gas.

I know people that are welded in the front and I can't understand how they've put up with it for so long, it sucks.

Did you make sure that the pass and driver side u joints were "in phase" when you put it all back together? What blew up anyway?
