Looking to go get a D60 rear from pull a part later this week. They have a huge selection and my question is what year/model cam with the 35 spline axles stock? I've looked all over the internet and can't find any info on what the 35 splines came in. I think it was newer Dodges only but I may be wrong.

I have that bookmarked but I was looking for D60 rear info. Sorry for the confusion, I should have specified what I needed.

Here's a link with a little more info, scroll down to the HD part.

I got a rear from a 89 E350 diesel van. The housing looks similar to the HD housing (doesn't have the HD stamping). It does have..
3.5 inch diameter / .5 inch wall tubes
The spindle bore is 1.600 and the 35 spline inners from my front do fit into the spindle, not by much (less than .010 or so) but they do dfit and rotate freely.

Unfortunately it came with 30 spline shafts, the splined part of the shaft is 1.5" diameter.

Good luck - Pull a Part it the sh$t.

Yep, thats wha I'm building.

Not all D70's are 35 spline. What vehicle should I look for to find a D70?

What they said on the 70.

I beleive they use the same diff cover, so I wouldn't imagine it hangs down much lower than a 60.

Last time I was at pullapart they had 4 or 5 70's.

Just pull a shaft and count the splines will you are looking at it.
I know I can go this route but I'm just trying to save myself alot of work. There's probably over 40 D60's and at least 5 D70's out there.

If you want a D60hd with stock 35spline axles, narrow your search to '73+ GM G300 dually vans(I have a list of BOM's if you're interested). Info on other 60hd's with stock 35spline axles is spotty at best, but you can throw short side D70 35spline shafts in most 60hd housings cheap since the spindle bore is 1.65".
Let me know what you find, because I'm looking for one myself! Going to a PnP in VA tomorrow and hope to find something I can work with...

That sounds like a D61. I bet its geared high, like 3 something? If so its def a 61 and you can't run lower than like 4.10 with out a ring gear spacer due to pinion offset.
