How much would a be a reasonable asking price for a
LP dana 30 with lockright locker and 4.56 gear. has new ball lower ball joints
and
a ford 8.8 with 4.56 gear w/ mini spool.

there set up for a xj.

Some people think 8.8s are made of gold, so you will probably get a lot of different opinions on that one. I just picked up an 8.8 with factory 4.10s and a factory LS and it an me $150 and I thought that was a good deal.

Another thing to consider before you can settle on a price is how many miles on the gears, and lockers.

Gotta agree with everything above.

8.8s get overvalued by some people because they're reputed as a great swap into wranglers. Personally I wouldn't pay more than $3-400 for a 8.8 - 4.56 w/mini spool. There are others who'd try to get $3-400 for a stock 3.73 8.8

The 30 is a different story, if its setup for an XJ it'll go under a TJ too. Lunchbox locker, straight bolt in for several vehicles. LP and size of the u-joints are possible downsides, but for people who can't fab bolt in can be a big $ plus.

Thanks a lot for the input. there actually in my TJ. The thing is I put leafs in the back of it, so its more like a xj set up. I might have like 2500 miles on the rear and like 15k on the front.

Probably gonna go to full widths sooner than later.I'm not really trying to sell them now just looking to see how much they were worth to other people...

If I was looking for something like that I would pay $500-700, of course I'd like to get it for less. Gearing is a plus as is the Lockright, mini spool is a minus. My experience has been that the 8.8 mini spools just will not hold up with 35"+ tires and abuse.

FWIW, I sold a HP D30 4.88 with Lockright and 8.8 4.88 Detroit for $1000 a few years ago.

Dana 30 is the value you will get more for it then you will the 8.8. The 8.8 have become a dime a dozen since the cash for clunkers. The you pullit here in greensboro has more then what they know what to do with and I think they charge like $100 or $125 for them.
