Dana 30 axle seal part#

Hey, looking to swap in a set of non-disco shafts w/ larger u joints(297x) I have for the jeep. I should need two seals for the pass side correct? One for innner, next to the housing and the other outer past the old vaccum disco. Thanks in advance, I really didn't want to trouble shoot with the geniuses over at the parts store. -Josh

Here is a link to a write up on it. I am not sure if it gives the part numbers needed or not. He says you do need two seals one either side of the vaccumm thing.

Good article. I found one slightly similar but both do not tell me the seal #. Damn. That is what I am doing though.

I found another article with the specific seal #'s.

It does not go into it but I am wodering why I would need the seal on the vaccum side of the axle. I figure i could just put in the two seals in the housing and not need the third one beauce the disco plunger does not need any oil to stay lubed. Any specific reason to keep it?

I have not done this swap I really dont know.

My understanding is that the seal at the vaccum thing is the keep the gear oil out because you simply dont need any there. I could be wrong I havent really checked into this a whole lot.
